The Pastor's Corner
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life and that they may
have it more abundantly." John 10:10
In this passage of scripture, we have two choices…
Death and Destruction from the Devil
Or
Life and Life more abundantly from Jesus…
Abundant (Greek) "perissos": exceeding, extraordinary,
more than sufficient.
The Greek word "perissos" is used to describe something that is beyond the usual or expected measure. It conveys the idea of abundance, excess, or something that is extraordinary in quantity or quality. In the New Testament, it often refers to the abundant life that Jesus offers, the overflowing grace of God, or the surpassing righteousness expected of believers (Strong’s Concordance Bible Hub).
More than sufficiency…More than more than enough. The life that Jesus gives us is Eternal. Not only are our sins forgiven. Not only does death ‘lose its sting.’ Not only does the grave ‘lose its victory.’
Through salvation, we are now promised to spend Eternity with
our Father in Heaven…That’s a major part of abundant life.
The other major part of abundant life is this: You and I can live a life on earth that is more than sufficient. You and I can live a life on earth that is more than more than enough.
And You and I can be ‘more than more than enough.’
Our best selves in God.
What we must realize is this, life and life more abundantly is not a luxury edition of life. Life and life more Abundantly is God’s Standard,
that is offered to every believer according to the Will of God.
My prayer for you is that you embrace this reality from God in 2025, Strive to have best relationship with God that you have ever had, and you will have the best year you have ever had in Jesus’ name!
Pastor Brady
